Paladarr is a Cuban word which means a small restaurant in a private home. This was the name of the previous restaurant on this site. When Chaloem and I purchased the restaurant, we discovered to our amazement that Paladarr is also an ancient Thai word which means "A circle of Friends".
We named our first restaurant in the tiny town of Trentham in the Macedon Ranges "Thai Issan", after the mystical North-East region of Thailand where Chaloem was born. So now we are Paladarr Thai Issan!! (If it ain't broke, why fix it?) Chaloem and I look forward to seeing you at Paladarr.
